![]() ![]() ![]() The 2 of them wandered in the middle of the dining room for a few minutes looking for another table obviously of their like. Our wait staff is highly professional and very well trained, but that man should have asked the front desk personal to move to a different table, according to standard business procedures. All timing recorded by the reservation and cameras systems! After eating their appetizers, that man stood up and approached a wait staff member in the middle of the crowed dining room. After waiting only three minutes they were seated at 7:17 at the table of their choice after refusing the first offered table. Greeted by the hostess, and still standing by the front desk, they were asked to wait shortly (not 10 minutes) for their table to be set up, as the previous dining guests were leaving the restaurant and were offered an available seat at the bar for the wife who walks with a cane. The reservation of above reviewer and his wife was at 7 pm. Let's make sure we dot the I’s and cross the t's. Since the review above Is clearly similar to the one her husband posted in a different site also omitting important details, we reply with the same response: We are grateful to have the opportunity to respond to the above review. We are shocked how the reviewer brings in Covid in this matter after millions of people died and still die around the world and millions of people are still mourning the loss of relatives, loved ones and friends. ![]() Our first reaction goes the title this review that leaves us with utter dismay and sadness. Their behavior and response was truly astonishing. Many much better places to choose from in NY. ![]() They really don’t care about their customers or your dining experience. My husband was none to happy with this response and they escalated the problem. The same maitre d’ who refused to seat us just rolled his eyes and told us it was ‘our fault’ like we were being ridiculous. We suffered through our first course, but when we couldn’t tolerate it anymore we told the waiter who suggested we change our table. Some time shortly after we were seated, another couple was brought to the table next to us, and unfortunately the woman’s perfume was so thick, I could hardly breathe, let alone taste my food. When we first arrived, the hostess was about to seat us for our 7 pm reservation, but the maitre d’ insisted we stand by the bar and wait 10 minutes to be seated, despite the fact that I am handicapped and walk with a cane. ViceVersa is loud when full, but lunch offers a more serene dining opportunity. This was absolutely hands down our worst restaurant experience in NYC and we live in Manhattan. That said, virtually everything on the short menu is worth trying and the small size of the portions makes it possible to have four courses comfortably. Try the grilled dorade with zucchini and rosemary olive oil, the veal-filled ravioli with nut-brown butter infused with sage and pancetta, or the breaded chicken breast Milanese style with baby arugula and tomatoes. Executive chef-proprietor Stefano Terzi gives a new northern spin to Italian classics. The results are impressive: tinted limestone, decorative urns and a 25-seat garden at the rear are among the eye-candy here. The owners met while working at Tony May's San Domenico and hired the same gifted Italian designer-architect who helped create May's celebrated restaurant to design their own. Pronounced “veechay-versa,” this upscale eatery in the Theater District serves up Italian dishes in an elegant yet comfortable atmosphere. ![]()
